The threshold sits in that tall patch of nothing just over there.
Making you think.
That is not much either.
Making you wonder.
Why.
You can’t just cross over its bounds.
Into the song.
That has taken up residency.
Just below your breast bone.
The song you have never not heard.
Even when you pretended that you could not.
In hopes that it would fade.
And leave you be.
The threshold.
Looks like the everyday.
And yet.
Upon sight.
Your breath catches in your being.
And twists into a maze.
Losing its way.
Making you chase after it.
Rather.
Than.
Follow the yearning towards a mystery.
That you.
Both.
Want to wrap yourself in.
And.
That you want to shatter.
Solve.
Figure out so well so that there will be no surprise lurking.
In the next step.
So that you do not fall.
Fail.
Or find yourself frozen in the middle.
Afraid that if you move you might be seen.
But
The desire does not wane.
Even as the fog descends.
Attempting to trick you into thinking.
That you don’t know the way.
Beyond.
The walled garden.
You find yourself in.
A labyrinth of doubt.
Walked over and over.
Until you know every hidden nook and story.
Yet.
Desire has tendrils of its own.
Pulling you closer.
To what once appeared ordinary.
And now.
Seems.
Otherworldly.
And what lives beyond.
A vision of a dream of something you can’t let go of but can’t yet hold.
So you stand.
Before the threshold.
With fear and fog and hope and wonder and fire and knowing and sense of creation slithering up your spine.
Because from here.
In one more step.
There is no going back.
To the stifling safety.
There is only.
The adventure.
You are.
Most literally.
Here for.
In one step.
There is only what is next.
A hand reaches out.
From beyond what can be seen.
The choice is yours.
Are you ready?
Are you willing?
Are you singing back to the Evers?
Saying yes to all that you are.
In darkness and density…
With love and fire~
