{mythology ~ the goddess of density}

She stood before me.
A needle and thread in her hands.
And whispered.
You can no longer dilute yourself.
To make yourself palatable to the tastes of others.
Let them wince with the truth of your being lingering on their tongue.
Or let them drink in the elixir.
And become.
But you who hold the wild in your hips.
You who drip magic from your lips.
You who rise and settle and set like the sun.
You will stand in the dark and pull yourself together.
You will dance with a density that shakes life free from the roots.
You will remember who you are and live as nothing less.

And with that.
She pierced my edges.
Gave me form.
And sent me on my way.

In darkness and density…
