In darkness and density~

At the end of this week, my newest Quest…Unnamed…begins.
And I am going to talk about it in this email.
But…even if you know that it is not for you, I would love it if you read the words below anyway.
Because they matter.
At least to me they do.

You may have noticed that I sign my emails.
These emails.
“In darkness and density ~
With love and fire…”

Because that is where I stand.
With myself.
With you.
But also.
Because we live in a world where we have been told that light and lightness are good.
That they are what we want.
And darkness and density are bad.
Something to turn from.
To work through.
To heal.
And every fiber of my being disagrees with that.

There are, of course, the obvious racist tones of making darkness the holder of all we dislike.
The way this is drilled into our being.
Offered to us as spiritual truths.
Makes my stomach turn.

Let me be clear, the dark is a miracle.
And it does not exist to make the light shine brighter.
The darkness is treasure all on its own.

The night is when we rest.
Seeds are planted under the soil.
Away from the sun.
The darkness nourishes.
It is a wonderland of possibility.
It offers us a chance to feel into our being without being distracted by what is visible on the surface.

The same is true of density.
We are dense beings.
We are made of matter.
And when we want to create.
To bring our visions into being.
What we want is to make our dream dense.
Real.
In the ache to have and hold we must let our wishes find solidity.
We must let them hold weight.

I do believe that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
And that human experience is one, in part, of density.
We are here.
Most literally.
For what matters.

None of this is to vilify lightness and spaciousness.
Of course not.
But their magic is known.
Celebrated.
It is the darkness and the density that I bring forward.
Because they are realms not quite as honored.
And they are realms that hold what we crave.

I conjured the Unnamed Quest with all of this in mind.
I wanted to create an experience in which density was celebrated.
In which we walked into a beckoning dark bookstore with a sense of excitement, rather than fear.

The Unnamed Quest is about taking a vision.
A hope.
A wish.
And claiming it.
Naming.
Weaving it into being.
So that it becomes dense.
Solid.
Real.
So that you can hold it.
So that you can live it.

These Quests I make are not your usual class or workshop.
They are a story that you can step inside.
They are immersive.
They are magic.
They offer a very different way of learning.
Of healing.
Of creating.
And this one…this one is going to call us in.
This one will be wildly creative.
This one will celebrate the density.
It will honor the darkness.
And it will be a most wonderful time.
