You will know that you have been called into the discovery when you look around and you are nowhere that you know with everywhere you can go.
Or perhaps you are everywhere with nowhere to go because each direction feels like a test already taken.
You may find yourself standing there for a while.
Wondering what happened to the moments when you were so sure of who you were.
And how it should be.
Wondering where the steps might take you if only you could manage to figure out where to place your foot down next.
But then a breeze will blow.
And for a moment.
Just a moment.
You will be given a memory of all it could be like.
If.
You could wrap your arms around the ethereal and make it the anchor point to what matters now.
You may not see it right away.
The shadow of a door opening just on the edge of where you thought you were allowed to tread.
Except now.
That is the only space that beckons.
There is one path in.
And infinite ways through.
But none can be seen from the start.
You will have to wander.
Not without aim or purpose.
But without a map, to be sure.
You will have to stumble through a mystery that has no desire to be known.
Instead it will weave a labyrinth out of the wild.
So that you may discover who you claim to be.
You may be asked to…
Stand on the bow of your boat and let your falling tears become the ocean that might just carry you forward.
Or.
Throw your history into the fire and wade through the ashes so that you can discover what asks to be reborn.
Or.
Sing lullabies to the monsters that live in the deep so that they may finallyfinallyfinally rest.
Or.
Howl until the fog breaks into a million pieces that will need to be sewn back together to form a road home.
And as you do all that you must.
You will start to see the way possibility shifts into something you can lay your hand on.
You will become more daring in the way you light up the hidden treasures.
You will let yourself dance into the shadows without the need to have it all figured out.
And one day.
You will breathe so very deeply you take it all in.
All of who you are.
And you will say, “yes, of course.”
Just as the next door opens.
With love and fire~
Jo Anna
